Isn’t it sad?

While I’ve noticed that things seemed to have picked up on here lately, the ”regulars” seem to be leaving. I admit I don’t post much anymore, but always try to respond to other peoples posts. But so far ackbar has decided he will post no more in nook, only comment every so often and meinrosebud has put a somewhat strange farewell message up. Some nooks that I regulary check also have had no new posts for ages. I’m going to try and post for often for without every one’s input this site will die and how are we supposed to keep people here if we don’t put up our own posts and make the site interesting?

I ran out of old halfway-decent poems to post, so now I’ve resorted to putting them up as I think of them… hence less posts :(

I think Admin needs to give us regulars all a Nook t-shirt in our own choice of colours. That way more people will know about Nook, we’ll be able to recognise other Nooksters, and it will be less costly than more iPods.
Speaking of which, methinks there are still unclaimed iPods left! :D

oooo ooooooo i’m still here!!! i’ve just been a bit boring lately…lol sorry! i try to be more interesting :D

I’m glad you always respond theshadow! Life wouldn’t be half as interesting if you weren’t here on nook.

That’s a great idea Lady Chaos, I would wear a nook t-shirt if it were offered to me. Shhhh about the ipods if scarface21 didn’t respond, the new winner should be drawn today!

jess08 - Thanks jess08, the more interesting stuff we post maybe we can get more people here, maybe we should have a referal program? With the nook t-shirts that Lady Chaos mentioned as a reward!

I’m addicted to Nook, so even if there’s noone left I’ll just talk to myself.

  6. 6 Lady Chaos

Me too… as we speak Nook is distracting me from finding articles for a psych lab… :D

I’m glad I’m your friend now theshadow, I love reading what you have to say! You are definately a “regular” as far as I am concerned.
At least you still make yourself known solomongrundy.

vivavoce and Lady Choas : I tend to have days where I am addicted to nook. Today I just can’t seem to stay away and am just hanging around waiting for people to post.

  11. 11 winnierose

mmmmmmmmm reminds me of that poem- a wise old owl sat on an oak, the more he saw, the less he spoke, the less he spoke, the more he heard, why cant we be like that wise ol bird?
I love to post, and I love to read others posts, and I love to respond…….but, every now and then, I love to just absorb.

  12. 12 skymija

Wow I love that poem winnierose! Where did you find it? I’ve never heard it before.

  13. 13 one

Is winnierose a relative of meinrosebud?

  14. 14 coolbunny

I like asking questions but will now start to challenge conventional thinking. Because if we don’t challenge thought, nothing improves.

  15. 15 tours1

  16. 16 fossil

I’m not sad. Still loads of interesting stuff going up. I’ve been putting my two bobs worth in but can’t claim to have added anything meaningful for a while.

I don’t hold with the formal sign-off “this will be my last post'’ thing, nor this Auld Lang Syne stuff.
There are nookers I’d like to see more of - Brian and Segue for instance - but clearly they have lives and are taking time to do other stuff. Maybe they’ll be back, maybe not. At least they didn’t announce their retirement.
    See ya round.
    Grrrrrr

  17. 17 winnierose

That poem Skymija, was one we had to recite over and over back in the days when they taught you things by rote in state school. Its as old as the hills, and speaking of old………No, im not a relative of meinrosebud, did he quote crappy poems too?.LOL.

  18. 18 vivavoce

come to think of it wonder whats happen to gold, haven’t seen her of late, maybe she’s another one to bite the dust.

  19. 19 theshadow

Last saw goldy skyhooks’ nook in the great smacking debate. Haven’t seen skyhooks around since then either. They’ll be back.

  21. 21 Blowfly

Yo, what about me? I’m good. I post… I do alot of postin’ but some never get posted! My posts probably never got approved :-( I dunno why. I never say anything real bad, honest. Look out for me; I’m really good.

  22. 22 theshadow

Hey blowie, i dont really remember any of your posts, but, you can be an official friend of theshadow- if you like.

I’m astounded by the amount of comments I have gotten on this post. Over 20 comments! It’s good to see that there is still a good amount of Spirit here.

Winnerose: I can’t remember meinrosebud quoting poetry, maybe I missed it. What does it mean by rote? Do you mean you had to repeat it over and over again?

    One: I think meinrosebud lives in… oh I don’t know maybe…..rosebud?

coolbunny: That’s my point exactly. We need posts that we can reply to and actually feel like our opinions mean something.

tours1: We all get busy from time to time. This weekend I haven’t been able to think for myself I’ve been that busy.

fossil: Couldn’t have a sad fossil there could we? I agree about the auld lang syne stuff, have been a member of a couple of forums and have noticed that those who do post that they will never come back usually do in some form or another.

vivavoice: At least there has been no farewell post hopeful gold will come back or is just hiding behind the computer screen for a while.

Blowfly: I don’t remember you much either I’m sorry to say. Hopefully we will be able to read all that you have to say soon, and you don’t get too many posts not approved.

theshadow: Thanks for keeping tabs on this post. I think that you have posted here more than any one else!

  24. 24 coolbunny

If we offer meaty posts, thought-provoking replies, simply and funny language - and make all our questioning relevant to more people, Nook will grow. If it is not meaningul and entertaining for people, they will hop away. Every question has to relate to their needs - basic needs are hunger, love, work, sense of belonging, rest, fun and play. If we feed people with their interests and needs, they are more likely to respond. Let’s keep it fun!!

Sorry sky, will try to keep my snout closed. he he he he

I am a Child care assistant working for an agency. I travel from Child Care centre to Child Care centre when an extra member of staff is needed. I have a Cert III in children's Services, First Aid, EpiPen (Anaphylaxis) trainin, Emergency Asthma traing and would willingly take on a full time job in a centre if offered. So far my job has taken me to the far reaches of Langwarrin, Brighton, Blackburn and Narrewarren. Every day I could be somewhere different. Meeting new people every day and always being the "New Girl" not quite understanding how things work in a centre and always asking questions.
