Well we are half way through another week. I was lucky today and managed to have a day off. I will probably have to work tomorrow, because I am a casual and if I don’t work I don’t get paid.
Today I’ve spent time on the internet, went shopping and got myself a new beadie book. (I make beaded jewellery), have done some washing and have enquired about an online course to update my qualifications.
What does everyone get up to on their day’s off? If you manage to get any that is.

When I have a day off (that’s funny!), I find my favourite place for breakfast and catch up with my friends and family and just go and cuddle everyone and hug and kiss all the kids in my family. That’s when I feel totally happy.
Oh snap. I too dont get paid if I dont work………..go figure!
On my day off, I fit so much into my day. I do the housework , pay bills, shop, make appointments, make all those phone calls that you never get 10 minutes straight for at work, And then have a quick lunch and off to my art class !!!!!………I manage to last all week with the promise of my art classes on a thursday. For those 4 whole hours, I wipe from my mind anything other than painting. I am somebody totally detached for the afternoon. When reality hits at 4.pm, I quickly resume my stressed out urban persona once again and race home to fly washing off lines, feed dogs, frisbee vegies into saucepans, and asking courteously how everyones day was. Then I try to have a little show and tell session, with whatever piece of art I’ve done that day. I like to think their smiles are genuine !!!!
That’s awesome, you make beaded jewellery too? I don’t make any fancy ones, just lots of bracelets, then I wear them all at once
There’s a great little shop in Boronia called Creative Dreams that has all sorts of interesting beads and beading supplies.
In this current wonderful, glorious non-single era, I spend my day off with my boyfriend, watching movies, playing with his cat, relaxing and eating.
Thanks for the reply’s guys.
That’s cool Lady Choas - I’m not that experienced at making stuff, and it usually is quite basic. A good site to visit for inspiration and beading chatter is www.beadingheaven.com/forums I’m a member but only a newbie but some of the stuff the girls make on there is absolutely fabulous. I get most of my beads from online stores and from spotlight but will have to check that one out while I’m over that way next.
